This year’s Women for Women event was (in our opinion) the best yet! The weather was absolutely perfect—thanks be to God! Thanks to the generosity of those who have taken part in the Women for Women 2019 campaign, Lydia’s House has raised $52,000 towards our goal of $50,000 to support the installation of solar panels on our office and apartment buildings.
The evening featured chillingly beautiful performances from Muse Women’s Choir. Zenzi Mda from Cincinnati Shakespeare Company portrayed the story of our beloved former guest, Lakeitia . Maria Krzeski hosted the event at her fabulous home and even preached a heartfelt and hilarious sermon relating the mystical wisdom of God’s provision via solar panels.
As the evening went on, we also heard from Mary Ellen Mitchell and Jane Gerdsen about the blessings of the year—the most notable being the opening of the Virginia Coffey Place. We then looked towards the future in hopes of building a nature playspace, painting a mural, and installing solar panels on some of our buildings. We enjoyed wonderful food from volunteers and ate delicious desserts from Anne Housholder.
Thank you to Maria and Robert for hosting with style and substance! Thank you so much to all who contributed to our 2019 Women for Women campaign!
