The following is the speech Mary Ellen and Meridith gave at our Feast of St. Lydia Event, January 26th 2014 A year ago we stood before you in a room very similar to this one and told you that we believed that women and children should have a decent place to live. Renovation Update!
These last two weeks at Lydia’s House have been really exciting with regards to progress made in renovation. Last week, we not only installed our hard-wood flooring on the ground and first floors, but we also had cabinets and a microwave installed! Each day, our house looks more and more like a home. We can’t wait for the women and children to see it! A microwave nestled in our new kitchen cabinets. Our intern Hilary is rather eager to start using it.
