It’s officially the first day of Summer and Lydia’s House had a very busy Spring season! In April, New City Church invited Lydia’s House and the Norwood community to their Easter Egg Extravaganza. Our current guests and aftercare guests were able to enjoy a mimosa and donuts while watching their little ones hunt for eggs. Thank you New City Church for always including us in your fun events!

At the end of April, we celebrated the end of this year’s Atrium season and honored volunteers, while also saying thank you to Laura Menze Green for her many years of service to Lydia’s House.

In May, we held a Mother’s Day celebration at Lydia’s House. There was Chinese food, roses for moms, clothes for kids, a bounce house, snow cones, and lots of smiles!

We were able to take current guests and aftercare guests to a Tuesday night baseball game, and we took a very hot trip to Kings Island! Thanks to the Cincinnati Reds and Kings Island for donated tickets, and The Dater Foundation for Child Enrichment funding.

In June, we celebrated our former guests’ graduation from the Brighton Center,  we held a child dedication ceremony for one of our former Lydia’s House kids, and we picked fresh strawberries from our garden at the Jean Donavan House (our office)!

We are looking forward to a busy summer at Lydia’s House!
