It takes many people all along the way to make Lydia’s House a welcoming home for women and children in crisis and transition, and we are grateful for all those who take a part. Some of these volunteers we especially appreciate are Dennis and Georgia Bishop. Dennis and Georgia Bishop have been the power couple of Lydia’s House building and maintenance needs. From the early days of the house renovation, they faithfully worked every Saturday, taking on jobs like framing, tiling and painting. February Update
The past few weeks have been a big time of transition at Lydia’s House. Three guests were able to transition into independent housing, getting their own apartments! This meant a few more mid-winter celebrations than usual. In each guest’s celebration, merit badges were awarded. We also take the opportunity to share wishes and hopes for the future for each guest, and do a group prayer of send-off. The guests were able to get their new apartments fully furnished, thanks to a new partnership we have with New Life Furniture. It made the transitions easier and all the more exciting! In

Advent and Christmas update
December at Lydia’s House was full of fun Advent and Christmas activities! So, here are some of our photos from the holiday season. The house went on two outings, first to the Children’s Museum, and then to the Cincinnati Zoo. We painted Christmas ornaments, made some Christmas gifts, decorated Christmas cookies and stockings: And on Christmas Eve, we had a dinner, a small prayer service with hymns, and a gift exchange:
Christmas Card Outtakes
Lately, we have been putting together and mailing our Christmas cards. We included our Advent calendar, and a photo of the group, in every card. Getting a good picture of everyone, with a self-timer, turned out to be quite the challenge!
